Obsidian Entertainment is looking for a talented UI artist to create layouts, art, and animations for our game interfaces.
This position requires someone with website or Flash experience that has a strong sense of composition and graphic design. A good technical aptitude and some knowledge of actionscript is a plus.
Requirements
• 3 Years minimum experience in web and or graphic design, or the video game industry
• Able to work with programmers and designers to quickly assemble menus and other user interface elements in Flash
• Able to create animations for UI elements
• Familiar with Photoshop or Illustrator
• Exceptional motivation and a passion for video games
• Able to adhere to tight schedules with minimal supervision
Pluses
• Previous experience on mobile or browser based Flash applications or games
• Previous experience working in graphic or print design
• Previous experience with video editing or compositing
• Examples of web design (Flash, HTML, CSS, or XML)
• Basic or intermediate knowledge of ActionScript or comparable programming languages
• Familiarity with any of the following programs: Dreamweaver, Illustrator, After Effects, Scaleform
• An interest in typography
Responsibilities
• Create initial mockups for a variety of UI screens including the HUD and game menus
• Creating simple UI animations in Flash
• Creating icons and logos
• Maintaining and optimizing assets and files
